Charity Support

Care and concern for others less fortunate than ourselves is also a part of our mission that defines our aims as a school. Danube International School Vienna is committed to helping those who are less fortunate than ourselves in various parts of the world.

We feel that this is important not only because service to the community (local, regional or world-wide) is part of the International Baccalaureate programme (MYP Community & Service and Diploma CAS) but also because we are privileged to be in a position to assist others who can not necessarily help themselves.

The main support that we currently offer to others are:

In previous years, the school has worked with a variety of other organisation to raise money or physical assistance with refugees, the aftermath of the flooding of the Danube, the Asian Tsunami Appeal, Haiti Earthquake Appeal (and many other urgent local and international relief organisations.

We also work with the Red Cross in Vienna who help to train our students in First Aid as part of student CAS work. We send our lost property from the 1st Semester to a Zimbabwean orphanage and from the 2nd Semester to a Ghanaian orphanage.

If you are in a position where you feel that you could contribute to any of our activities or require student assistance for charity work, with we would be pleased to hear from you. There are named staff for every activity and they will be happy to liaise between you and the students involved.
